Tobi

Tobi

Ten years ago, Tobi was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and was unresponsive to treatment. A miracle took the form of a promising clinical trial, and she was disease-free in 2015. Tobi Sampler hiked Mount Kilimanjaro in 2023 and individually raised over $13,000 for the Food & Care Program. "Of course I am climbing to raise awareness and raise funds for Africa New Life’s food program, however, there are so many other reasons. The most important reason, for myself, is so more children have the opportunity to DREAM big dreams!"

Tatum

Tatum

Tatum, a graduating senior, began photographing senior “PORCHtraits” for her fellow students, giving the funds she made to the Food & Care Program during a critical time during COVID-19. A number of photographers around the country started their own variations on the PORCHtrait idea, raising enough in total to provide relief for 290 families in Rwanda. Other partners of Africa New Life launched their own Facebook fundraisers for food relief efforts, raising nearly $10,000 together!

Becky

Becky

Becky climbed Kilimanjaro in 2017 for her son, Judah, who was adopted from the very community where Africa New Life’s Dream Medical Center was being built. Through her story and “village” of friends and family coming alongside her, Becky raised $20,000 for the Dream Medical Center to be built, over twice her original goal! “As he matures, Judah will understand the magnitude of what the medical center will mean and why I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for him.”

Jason

Jason

"Our family travelled to Rwanda together in 2019, and we of course all fell in love with the people, and the ministry of Africa New Life. Last year we brainstormed some ways that our family could do something to raise money and awareness for the ministry. Chilly nights in Texas call for a hot chocolate stand! It was a treat for my kids and their cousins to work together on such a meaningful project (and to re-enact a photo). With onsite donations and a Facebook fundraiser, we collected over $1,000 for the Food & Care Program!"

Nash and June

Nash and June

"I like to help the kids get food. And I liked setting up the table." -Nash "I really liked helping people. So raising $300 to help feed kids and pay for stuff was really fun. And the lemonade was also really good!" -June
