Sponsorship and prayer already bring hope and joy to students in our program. When students receive gifts through our Online Store, it adds to their understanding that they are thought of and cared for, and it provides a good reminder of God’s provision in their families’ lives!

Not sure what to order for your sponsored student?
All items in our Online Store have been selected by Rwandan leadership because they are most beneficial for students and their families. Here are some important guidelines to start with:

  • Please limit your gift to five items. Rest assured, students will feel abundantly blessed by gifts! Because of cultural differences and the realities of material poverty, receiving too many gifts can create unhealthy relationships and cause unintended consequences for families.
  • Food is always a significant need for families in our program and is our top gift recommendation.
    • If you choose to order the Food & Soap Pack, please do not order any additional food items. Too much food given at one time can spoil before the family has time to eat it all. However, you can order any combination of the other (smaller quantity) food items listed.

Consider ordering a food item, a hygiene supply kit (girl’s hygiene kit for girls 11+), an outfit, a backpack, or a Kinyarwanda Bible.

Please note: the Food & Soap Pack should not be ordered alongside any other food items, as food can spoil before the family has time to eat it all.

Consider ordering a food item, the boarding school set, the school package, mattress & bedding, or a hygiene supply kit (girl’s hygiene kit for girls 11+).

Please note:

  • Gifts may be delivered to your sponsored student’s family while they’re at school. In this case, the “thank you” photo we send to you will be of the student’s relative with the gift. Boarding students may enjoy nonperishable gift items once they return home during their next school break. If you would like to place an order in hopes that it would be delivered while the student is at home on break, you can strategically do so in November, March, and July. However, we cannot guarantee the gift(s) will be delivered when the student is home.

Consider ordering any food item, father’s shirt, mother’s fabric, or bedding item(s).

Please note: the Food & Soap Pack should not be ordered alongside any other food items, as food can spoil before the family has time to eat it all.

Don’t be! Remember that many items (such as mattresses or clothing) wear out eventually. Also bear in mind that the culture of giving, receiving, and sharing is different in Rwanda than in the United States, and it’s likely that gifts will be joyfully shared with relatives or neighbors.

Gifts are always welcomed for students who are not sponsored or whose sponsors are unable to order gifts. Food is a great gift for a student in need; the other items recommended above are also excellent choices. Simply select an item in our Online Store and click the box next to “Any Student in Need” to make sure it goes to an appropriate student; our Rwandan colleagues will do the rest!

Many of the families in our program face the challenges of poverty daily. Practical gifts like food and household necessities are essential and allow parents to allocate additional resources where they’re most needed. Your thoughtful generosity provides culturally sensitive and deeply meaningful support.

“May God abundantly bless those who send gifts, because it encourages the child to work hard at school, be healthy, and feel cared for. I observed this in my daughter after receiving her sponsor’s gifts.” – mother of Kelia, a sponsored student
