Currently, 95 percent of Rwandan pastors have not received any formal theological training. Rwanda Evangelical School of Theology (REST) will provide non-traditional Biblical education leading to an accredited Bachelor of Theology Degree for these pastors.
In 2011, Africa New Life will begin REST classes in the Dream Chapel for 25 students. And construction on the REST building begins this summer. In 2013, the REST building will open its doors for the first time.
Already, volunteers from Multnomah University in Portland OR, collected and prepared a 15,000-volume theological library for the school. The library, which will be one of the largest in Rwanda, will provide unprecedented resources for pastors in Rwanda.
