Praying for Rwanda: Current Projects (DAY 10)
Posted on 11. Aug, 2010 by Africa New Life in BLOG, PRAYER, RWANDA
Since 2001, God has immensely blessed Africa New Life! Young children once stood, hands-locked, in a circle on the property of New Life Christian Academy praying that God would provide money for the school to be built. Today the campus boasts a primary school, seven children’s homes, a well and a garden. Construction on the Potty Project–which will provide bio-gas toilets and plumbing for the children’s homes–began in July.
Already this year, construction on the church in Kageyo was completed and Africa New Life took over management of the school. The Umucyo Home for street children was built in Kayonza; 48 young boys are living there now.
In the next couple of years, Africa New Life plans to build:
- a high school building at New Life Christian Academy in Kayonza
- a vocational training building for the New Life Family Center and street children ministry, which will allow the programs to grow
- Rwanda Evangelical School of Theology (R.E.S.T.)
- a medical clinic at the Dream Center property
These buildings are more than walls. They are refuges for the orphan, the widow, the oppressed, the poor.
Today we pray for all of the projects currently happening and those yet to begin in Rwanda. We pray that the hurting, poor and hungry may experience the refuge of the Lord in these buildings and experience His love. We pray for the funding for projects under construction and those yet to be built. Most importantly, we pray that God’s name would be glorified through each Africa New Life project in Rwanda.
